Solidarity fund foundation for foreign students in Zurich

The Solidarity Fund supports foreign students who are matriculated at the University of Zurich or ETH Zurich. It gives them access to education and fosters internationality and diversity. It offers equal opportunity to foreign students who find themselves in difficulat financial circumstances.

The Solidarity Fund is financed by voluntary contributions from students and professors of both universities. It was founded in 1976 as an association, and became a foundation in 1982.

The organs of the foundation are its board and executive board.

The foundation board comprises five members:

• two student representatives from University of Zurich’s VSUZH association
• one student representative from ETH Zurich’s VSETH association
• one representative from the administration or teaching staff of the University of Zurich
• one representative from the administration or teaching staff of ETH Zurich

The Head of the Student Financial Aid Office UZH and a member of the Student Financial Aid Office ETH participate in the meetings of the Solidarity Fund in an advisory capacity.
